Global Design Book

Global Design—co-authored by Louise Harpman, Peder Anker, Mitchell Joachim—was published by Prestel, an imprint of Random House, in 2015. The book includes design work that was shown in two large-scale exhibitions in New York and London, an introduction by design editors Ellie Stathaki and Jonathan Bell, and a scholarly essay by MIT Dean Hashim Sarkis.

Global Design foregrounds a number of practices who see their work as informed by both local and global concerns and whose projects expand traditional definitions of practice. As the design disciplines expand to embrace other areas of knowledge, it is our hope that the design process—which promotes research, innovation, and experimentation—will bring its methodology and rigor to a wider audience.
