Prairie House

The prairieHouse appropriates the infrastructure of petroleum dependency and creates a site of active resistance. This prairieHouse is not based on a romantic vision of the American landscape, but rather on our short-sighted dependence on cheap oil and the reality of the landscape we have littered. The gas station canopy becomes the new prairieHouse and is retrofitted for inhabitation, with living spaces tucked under the broad roof, with electric vehicle charging stations below the house and a tall-grass prairie on top.
